At the heart of the Association of Ethiopian Patriots (AEP) lies a commitment to reshaping the futures of Ethiopian youth through education. We pay homage to the valiant warriors who safeguarded their homeland by extending aid to the communities they called home.
Operating as a non-profit 501(c)(3), our local AEP chapter is dedicated to raising funds for diverse charitable initiatives. Currently, we've chosen to rally support for a school in Merhabete, Ethiopia, a place deeply rooted in the heritage of Dejasmach Abebe Shenkut and Ambassador Alemayehu Abebe—grandfather and father of Dr. Bethel Alemayehu, respectively. Dejasmach Abebe Shenkut, alongside his young son, bravely defended against the fascist Italian incursion during the second colonization attempt and later played vital roles in making the AEP what it is today.
We take immense pride in championing underprivileged children from impoverished communities, aiding them in surpassing obstacles to achieve their aspirations. These children lack the basic resources essential for their educational journey, including school supplies, electricity, lighting, and conducive learning environments.
Dr. Bethel Alemayehu has orchestrated an event aimed at acquainting participants with Ethiopia while concurrently raising funds to support the Merhabete school. Join us in experiencing a glimpse of Ethiopia while contributing to a meaningful cause.
